I recently moved to Florida in october and brought my son to stay with me for a couple of months. I gave his mother a verbal agreement that he would be back before Christmas because I was trying to seek a job and come up with the money to fly him back. He is 20months and I was wondering due to not having any money and not being able to send him back can I get in trouble for this? There are no papers saying who has custady. i think you should let the mother know of your situation. Being honest will save you a lot of trouble.
