Start listing the tickets at the end of September.
1) Nobody wants a pre-sale before 60 days because if you flake, they can't get a refund from Paypal or their credit card.
2) You don't want to wait until 2 weeks before because your buyer could flake and you wouldn't have time to relist.HELP with Ebay question? Please help need advice. Selling tickets on Ebay.?
Hold them until 3 to 4 weeks prior. Best shot at getting a bidding war. To avoid scalping laws, do not start the bidding higher than face value of the tickets. It isn't scalping if 2 or more buyers bid over them, it is however if you start the price for more than total face value.
If these are paper tickets, insist on USPS money order (so you can verify on the spot with USPS if it is counterfeit or not) and send them with delivery confirmation. If they go for a very high amount, make it signature required. Too easy for them to do a charge back on PayPal and then you are out the tickets and the money.
If you do take PayPal and the situation goes bad (as described above) contact me and I'll tell you how another seller got even with their bad buyer.
I found this web site http://www.tripigg.com/category/ebay/ there are useful tips
