I've got this friend that gets mad everytime I don't give him praise for his advice. Help?

sounds like a real attention hog. Anyone who needs constant praise has some insecurity issuesI've got this friend that gets mad everytime I don't give him praise for his advice. Help?
Just thank him for any advice he gives you and leave it at that. If he gets mad for not being praised that is on him! Perhaps his parents over-praised him growing up and now he expects it from everyone. That's an expectation he needs to get over QUICK! Especially in the working world, where more often than not you feel underappreciated and are not praised for even an exceptional job-well-done.I've got this friend that gets mad everytime I don't give him praise for his advice. Help?
dont ask him for advice

and when he gives you advice without your asking, you say 'thanks, but i didnt ask for your advice as this is a private matter and i dont really want to discuss it, but thanks for your concern'

but

dont say it aggressively, as that will just make him want to be defensive

say it with a little lightenss and non threateningly

but

dont seem overly appreciative about his concern either as this will keep him in the mind frame hes in about his advice being needed and really important and valuable

also you could make a kinda joke about how eveyrtime he gives advice he acts like he wants a cookie and a pat and not just a thanks

but make it really funny, not insulting

again anything threatening will just make him defensive

and if he at any time becomes defensive or agressive when you say any of these

you just say, 'look theres no need to act like that, now im going to go home, when you calm down give me a call'

again be calm, not insulting or threatening just say it kinda factually

as long as you keep your cool, you and he, will know he was in the wrong with his reactions not you

he will no doubt try to make it seem like it was you, but you just keep calm all the time and stick with your story of him acting agressive and you being calm

and if he still acts like this, then maybe hes not really tha t good a friend as you think
He's got an inferiority complex which is his problem not yours and also a delicate ego. Try not to hang out with him so much and find new friends, the guy will drive you crazy eventually, far too needy.
If he give you advice -- just say a thank-you - and be done -- and if he gets mad - then so be it.

Consider not taking his advice any more.
I recommend not asking this friend for advise anymore.
Then dont praise him. Just say thanks.

or better yet, dont ask for his advice.
