My 2 year old son has a fever, is vomiting and has diarrhea...he can't keep anything down. Advice? Help?

He was fine yesterday morning and then Daycare called me around noon to say he was listless and had a temp of 100. I waited a little bit to pick him up as he was sleeping when they called. When I picked him up he had a temp of 101 and had a watery bowel movement. He seemed ok last night after giving him tylenol so I fed him as normal and then he puked around 9pm. He woke up feeling warm again this morning and had 2 diarrhea incidents and puked about 4 times. At this point he is not keeping anything down, including plain water. I've tried gatorade and apple juice and he's puked those up too. Any ideas on how I can get something in his system? I am worried about him getting dehydrated. His eyes are also bloodshot which I've never seen before....My 2 year old son has a fever, is vomiting and has diarrhea...he can't keep anything down. Advice? Help?
try the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. only feed your son in small amount and only give small amounts of liquid. try watering down the gatorade. you do not need to rush your son off to the doctor unless he becomes dehydrated.

as long as his eyes still make tears and you can pinch an inch of skin, he is still hydrated enough. from my experience, and my son's doctor, it takes a good 24 hours of puking/diarrhea for a kid to get dangerously dehydrated.

keep giving him the tylenol/advil and just offer small amounts of food and liquid every half an hour to hour, allowing his stomach to take a little bit at a time.My 2 year old son has a fever, is vomiting and has diarrhea...he can't keep anything down. Advice? Help?
I have a 2 year old boy too. He just got over the same thing. I went and got him some Pedialyte from the store and gave that to him, without food. Just keep giving it to him as often as you can. This will keep him from getting dehydrated. Also, don't worry about the fever too much as long as he is acting okay. I would give him Motrin instead of Tylenol because it seems to work better and it also lasts longer. Hope this helps.
Keep giving him fluids even if he throws it back up. Pedilite also makes freezer pops, or try any popcicles or ice chips :) Sometimes that helps not to trigger vomiting because it enters the system slower.

If you feel like he is getting worse or isnt doing better soon I would make the trip to urgent care.
my son was like that 3 weeks ago i hade to tale him to the hospital and they gave him a shot and it took it all a way you need to take him now it will not stop
He needs medical attention, small children can become dehydrated VERY QUICKLY please at least call his doctors out of hours service for advice, they will tell you what to do.

Please call a doctor right now.
I think it would be a good idea to call your pediatrician. Toddlers can dehydrate very fast.
Why aren't you taking him to a doctor instead of asking random people on Yahoo!?
take him to the hospital asap
talk to doctor for advice
Dehydration is definately a concern.

To take care of the fever, I'd suggest ';Feverall';-they're suppositories which are no fun, but if he can't hold anything down, choices are limited. Because the fever can contribute to dehydration, you definately want to address it. These suppositories usually dissolve very quickly, so even if he has an episode of diarrhea very shortly after the suppository is inserted, biggest chances are that it's already had a chance to dissolve and begin doing what it's supposed to do.

Pedialyte is another good choice....I'd suggest getting the Pedialyte popsicles and having him lick it slowly (but not so low that it melts to nothing). This might be better than having it drink it-so much at one time on his stomach may spur on another vomiting episode whereas licking the popsicle slowly lessens the chances of vomiting.

And, as always, it never hurts to consult his doc.

Hope he feels better! 'Tis the season, unfortunately....
