i want to drop 40 pounds, but no, im not stupid and i know good and well thats not going to happen by august 13th
how many could i lose? is 20 reasonable?Help? advice? opinions?
unfortunately, i don't think its possible to loose 20lbs in 1 month, unless you go on a VERY strict diet, but then, you would gain the weight back.
Don't eat any processed food. Don't go on a diet, its the worst! Just eat healthy, so lots of fruits, vegetables, legumes. Not to much meat, only white meat. Fish is good, 24oz of milk per day helps in weight loss. Eat whole grains. Drink more water than you think possible! If you like tea, drink green tea.
Virgin coconut oil is proven to help in weight loss by increasing the metabolism. Try 1 tbsp with each meal.
As for exercise, do as much as you can. Idealy, everyday! 5-6 times a week, no less, will promote the burning of fatty tissue. Choose an exercise that gets your heart's rate up (jogging, aerobics, biking) to a moderate level. Hint: you should be able to talk while exercising. If not, you're going to fast.
If you can, do some weight lifing. More muscle mass means that your metabolism will burn more fat while your not exercising.
15min maximum after each session, drink a glass of milk or eat some yogourt. Dairy products help to build the muscle mass faster (higher metabolims!) but you only have 15min after your workout! good luck!
last thing: it takes a while to loose the first pounds, maybe 3 weeks... but if you keep up you routine, after 6 weeks maybe, you can loose 2 pounds/week. And that weight, melting naturally, will never come back!Help? advice? opinions?
I would need to have more information about your current physical condition, i.e., are you currently exercising, if so, how much, how often, what type, etc.? Also, you did not say what you are currently doing regarding diet, so I don't really know if we are talking about starting at ';Square 1';, or if you are already doing some of the necessary things to lose weight and keep it off.
But a general approach to exercise would include a visit to a doctor first, to check your overall physical condition, and to make sure that your planned ';crash diet and exercise'; program is not going to put your health at risk. Assuming he or she gives you the green light, I would suggest you exercise six days per week, always starting off with some stretching. There are many different exercise programs, but an effective one would be bike riding, either on the road or stationary. If you have a stationary bike that shows the amount of calories burned, distance covered, etc., it reinforces your motivation to reach your goal by giving immediate feedback on your progress.
There are many different diets, and I don't really study them closely, but a general approach of common sense and discipline are fundamentals you need to follow in your eating habits. For example, simplying eliminating bread from your diet can produce results quickly when you are trying to lose weight. Also, cut out the sweets and soda pop, which provide nothing but empty calories--no nutritional value. If you are hungry, snack on peanuts, rather than chips. And drink plenty of water.
I cannot predict how many pounds you will lose by Aug. 13, but the important thing is to adopt good healthy habits of diet and exercise and make a long term commitment to follow the program. Good luck.
