Try ';studying'; for the interview the way you would study for a test. Make lists of possible questions that the interviewer might throw your way, and know how to answer them (ex: ';Where do you see yourself in 5 years?';) Also, do a lot of background research on the company and the position you want so that you're prepared for anything. Preparing a lot will calm you down once the interview actually starts.

Good luck! :)
I'm an employment advisor so I think I can offer some expertise here. First things first. Simply think of the interview as an opportunity to have a ';conversation'; about YOU. Notice how I've highlighted the word conversation because that's important. You're there because they're intersted in you - they want you there.

You may have all the right degrees they're looking for but that rarely counts for much unless you have a PERSONALITY to go with it. They

want to know more about YOU as a person, what you can offer their

organisation (cheerful personality, can-do attitude, can get along with others %26amp; show leadership %26amp; initiative if necessary) %26amp; what you like to do ';outside of work'; - that's important too. They want to make sure you have a life outside work %26amp; can bring something to their organisation.

They're looking for a real person - not someone who can ';woo'; them with a whole lot of fancy words (although, that does help). To an employer, it's no good if you have all the right skills needed for the job if you have a bad attitude or lack confidence in your ability to do the job. CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF (who knows you better than you?) and a bit of showmanship are the keys to a successful interview.

Ask yourself? why do I want this job so much? job title, company, salary package or ? Don't be shy about your skills - talk yourself up but make sure it's the truth since they will do background checks. Show confidence by being deliberate about what you expect to be paid - don't settle for less than market rate. That way, they think you have other offers out there (even when you don't) so they'll be keep to snap you up.

Do some research into the background of the company you will be interviewing for. Ask burning questions about the organisation - it tells them you're interested in who they are, what they do and how you might fit into their organisation.

Those are just a few tips AND you're right, a lot of the anxiety around interviews is in your head. But remember - the people interviewing you - they're human too. They had to do an interview to get to where they are so they will understand perfectly how you're feeling. Sometimes, they forget what it's like. Turn your anxieties into adrenalin for constructive thinking.

Practise with a couple of friends first - and just remember, when one door closes, another one opens.

Hope that helps %26amp; good luck :-)
me too

sometimes after the interviews I laugh about things I have said with friends and family and can't believe the silly mistakes and errors that came out of my mouth.

at one interview i was asked for the spelling of my name and paused for more than 3 min.

now I go in interviews laughing in advance. and believe it or not it works I don't know whether it is the possative energy that I spread around or what.
